Antonio Zamudio is a Mexican-born, Los Angeles-based screenwriter, director, producer, and award-winning actor whose multi-faceted career spans over two decades across the Hollywood, Mexican, and Caribbean markets. Born in Tuxtla Gutiérrez, Chiapas, Mexico, and artistically raised in Jalisco and Mexico City, Zamudio stands out in the contemporary industry for a unique creative methodology that fuses the analytical precision of his background in Industrial Engineering and Executive Management with the emotional depth of human drama. This solid conceptual foundation allows him to construct rigorous narrative structures capable of capturing the complexity of social systems and giving a human face to globally relevant realities.
 

His undeniable narrative authority was established early on. In 2010, the prestigious newspaper El Heraldo recognized him as one of the most promising emerging figures in contemporary Mexican cinema. His transition into the Hollywood film industry came through Walt Disney Pictures in the production Beverly Hills Chihuahua, under the direction of American filmmaker Raja Gosnell. He later expanded his executive and acting versatility in Mexico City, collaborating on prominent series and telenovelas for Grupo Televisa, and actively participating in national cinema through feature films such as La Sagrada Familia and Abril y mayo, sharing credits with key figures of Mexican cinematography like Jorge Zárate, Miguel Couturier, and Raúl Méndez.

Definitive international acclaim for his acting prowess arrived with his leading antagonist role in the acclaimed Mexican-Dominican co-production feature film La lucha de Ana (2012), a high-profile project funded by the prestigious Ibermedia international aid program. His portrayal of Esteban received unanimous praise from specialized critics, who hailed his performance as one of the finest in the film. For this role, Zamudio won the International Best Actor Award at AMUCINE RD’s Woman Film Dominicana, received nominations for Best Lead Actor at the Cineasta RD Awards and the La Silla Awards in Santo Domingo, and was honored as Best International Film Actor at the Palmas de Oro Awards by the National Circle of Journalists in Mexico, as well as Best Actor at the Tamaulipas Film Festival.
 

Firmly committed to technical and acting excellence, Antonio refined his scenic vision at the prestigious Stella Adler Academy of Acting in Los Angeles and deepened his screenwriting craft through intensive workshops at Sundance Collab. His top-tier performance training has been guided by internationally renowned masters such as Roberto Sosa, Mario Zaragoza, Luis Felipe Tovar, and Vanessa Bauche. On the corporate and executive production front, he holds a Diploma in Film Business and Arts Executive Production (UAG), underpinning his capacity to manage highly complex logistical and financial projects. His consolidation within the institutional North American industry was capped in 2023 when he became the first Chiapas native to join the SAG Awards Nominating Committee (For Your Consideration - FYC).

Currently leading the production company Supernova Empire Pictures, Zamudio is transitioning into auteur filmmaking with his feature debut as a writer-director: Broken Perspectives. This social drama explores resilience and the unwavering pursuit of dignity within underrepresented communities, co-written alongside his creative partner Ingrid Franklin Díaz, with whom he shares a strict commitment to preserving the project's narrative integrity. Demonstrating his wide generic range, Zamudio is simultaneously co-creating The Pastor’s Wife, a dark comedy pilot that showcases his versatility in writing. Through his filmmaking, Antonio Zamudio seeks to illuminate resilience, dignity, and the spiritual dimensions of social justice, building a deeply aesthetic, mature body of work with a decisive global impact.
